Professor Ashleigh Griffin
Oxford University
United Kingdom
Ashleigh Griffin is Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Oxford. She started her career at the University of Edinburgh in 1999, when she was awarded a PhD for her work on meerkats. She took a three-year career break to care for her first child, before returning to research on social evolution, using comparative analyses of cooperatively breeding vertebrates, and experimental evolution with bacteria. She combines these two approaches to this day. She was appointed to a lectureship in the Department of Zoology at Oxford in 2013.
